A Nonjudgmental Space for Mutual Support

All are welcome here! In this divided world, I want to create a safe space for people to connect and support each other.
This is a place for people to share their real-life struggles and receive kind words of support. Here we can go beyond chitchat and make real connections. Tell us:
- What are you struggling with?
- What do you need?
- What is your life like?
- What are your passions, skills, or talents?
- In what ways do you feel alone?
The main rule for responding is kindness only!
Yes to:
- Validation, empathy, encouragement, and friendly support (especially in the "Hurting & Hard Times" section), such as:
- "That sounds really hard."
- "I think you're being very brave."
- Offers of practical help or connection, especially in the "Skills & Specialties" section, such as:
- “I’m a good listener and available for supportive messages if anyone needs a kind voice.”
- “I have experience navigating disability paperwork and can share emotional support around that process.”
No to (I will delete):
- Advice, unless specifically asked for
- Criticism (even "constructive"), correction, or counsel, unless asked for
- Hate speech or any sort of unkindness or disrespect
- Selling or marketing
- Preaching, proselytizing, or propaganda
Note from the creator & moderator: I'm just an ordinary person (see: about me), and I'm figuring this out as I go. (Leave feedback here.) I intend this as an online hub for regular human-to-human connection, not any sort of official resource.
If that sounds good, scroll down to dive in and start connecting!
Hello, I'll go by Dragonfly983 here. I really like the intention of this space.
I live in the Midwest and spend a lot of my time caring for others, which means I don’t often talk about how I’m actually doing. I’d like to practice being a bit more honest and connected.
I listen to audiobooks a lot while working, and I'm always looking for recommendations of good books. One of my favorite authors is Barbara Kingsolver.
